Day 13: Chili

3 lbs. ground turkey
1 onion, chopped
1 red bell pepper, chopped
2 cloves garlic, crushed
2 10.5-oz. cans beef broth
15-oz. can tomato sauce
14.5-oz. can diced or stewed tomatoes
1/4 c. chili powder
1 tbl. cumin
1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp. molasses or dark brown sugar

Garnishes
Shredded cheddar cheese
Sour cream
Rice or pasta

  1. Cook meat, onions, peppers, and garlic in skillet, until meat has been browned. It may be necessary to do this in two batches.
  2. Add the meat and vegetables, and all remaining ingredients, to slow cooker. Stir to mix well. Cook on low for 6-8 hours, or longer if possible.
  3. Serve over rice or pasta with desired garnishes.
